After the US won its independence, the folks to the north got to thinking it might be nice to have their own country. However, to have their own country, they must have a name.
"I like how the USA has three initials -- let's pick our initials first and then figure out what they stand for later," said one of them.
So they put all 26 letters into a hat and started to pull them out.
"C, eh?"
"N, eh?"
"D, eh?"
